My thoughts :

Billie Eilish is the kind of artist everyone knows nowadays, but I'd never really fell much into her songs, enjoying them from afar. A while ago, I listened to you should see me in a crown or Six Feet Under but stayed out of the hype as she released Happier Than Ever. When Hit Me Hard And Soft was out, I heard the songs on the internet, but they never found a place into my playlist until recently. This year, I want to listen to albums I probably would have never usually taken the time to listen to in the entirety, and I happened to choose this one.

Chihiro really stuck with me and I even had the opportunity to create a dance choreography with it. I love everything about that song, the atmosphere, the musicality, the feelings it evokes for me. "I don't know you at all/[...]Did you take/ My love away/ Away from me?" has a personal meaning to me and I found this line really powerful. The soft beats, the background singing and the synth (I guess?) are very nostalgic, kind of Y2K but at the same time comforting. You feel lost in something so big, but at the same time, it's all soft around you. Maybe you're falling, but something's calling for you up your head, though, when you look, it's only you. The change in rythm in the chorus/afterward is so satisfying haha, all that tension building up for this. I could listen to that specific song for hours.

Skinny, The Greatest and Blue also are songs that I really like, because of their rythm, and in a more general way, because of the way Billie Eilish's way of singing is so unique and rare. I'm not a big fan of L'Amour de Ma Vie :/
